Kelly Delekta, Founding Partner

Kelly (she/her) leads the firm’s development-related engagements. Prior to co-founding Brightspot in 2018, Kelly worked in fundraising and nonprofit management for various organizations in New York and Boston.

Through her client-focused work, Kelly conducts development assessment and planning work for organizations of myriad sizes and scopes, reviewing current fundraising practices, using those findings to craft operational development plans, and providing counsel to push implementation forward. Her work integrates all stakeholders, recognizing the importance of fostering a culture of deep (yet comfortable!) engagement for board members, ensuring that they are actively involved in achieving organizational goals. As part of this work, Kelly is also exploring the principles of Community-Centric Fundraising and how an organization’s fundraising tactics can better reflect their core values.

Kelly is a current board member of the Portsmouth Public Library.

Education: B.A., Creative Writing & Dance, Hamilton College

When not working: Kelly lives in Portsmouth with her husband. She loves to travel (anywhere), play board games (Wingspan), read (poetry and British mysteries), and watch the NHL (New York Rangers).
